My challenge is for you to stitch on your layout. I cross stitched for years and have tons of skeins of DMC floss just sitting around wanting to be used. Bazzill has some awesome templates that I like to use when stitching on my layouts. I love the texture that the floss adds to my layouts. So, go ahead, stitch on your layouts. Can’t wait to see what you all come up with!

Here is an example from me.

When I stitch on my layouts, I first pierce a hole or holes where I want my stitching to come through. I use a piercing tool and place my layout on top of some cork so I have a nice soft surface for my piercing tool to go into.


This challenge will be worth 10 points towards your Grand Opening total. Entries can be any size done in paper, OR hybrid. Layouts must be newly created and must be posted to this thread by Midnight PST, April 30th.

I've used the Bazzill templates on a few of my lo's and it really adds that extra touch. I'll see what I can use them on for this wonderful challenge. Great sample lo.

Yes, I did do mine by hand. I used the template and started going from there. I have also free handed a design before-I was insprired by a pair of my daughter's pants. I should post a pic of that one also.

Here is the layout that I did where I was inspried by my daughter's pants. Simple design but complicated stitching. It took me forever! I did this layout about a year and a half ago.
