Valerie's June Scrapperie Kit reveal
It was so much fun using this month’s kit from Scrapperie. Like Jennifer, I also received the “Extras” and “Trimmings” kits, and what a great assortment of paper and embellishments!
Here is the first layout that I created – Beach Boys. I just had to begin with a beach theme with all the cool goodies that we received. This is a photo of my son and nephew on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale in the 70’s. I have recently scanned some old slides that I have, and with a little tweaking in PhotoShop, I’m real happy with the results – and real happy to have these memories that I can finally scrap.
I love the texture that burlap adds to a layout so I was excited to see it in the kit. I used one of the threads of burlap to hang the starfish charm from. Everything here is from the kit with the exception of the solid blue cardstock, the alphas, and the piece of burlap ric rac that I just recently purchased at JoAnn Fabrics.
My second layout is so much different from the first, but that is what’s so great about this kit. There are so many different ways you can use it. Green is one of my favorite colors, and I’ve been waiting for some green paper to scrap this beautiful photo of my niece. I combined paper from 7 Gypsies and Scenic Route Grafton collection. I attached the transparency using a little bit of Zip Dry adhesive (and applying it with a toothpick under the printed areas of the transparency). Everything is from the kit except the cardstock, alphabet and lace.
I was so thrilled that the paper in the kit matched the color of the water in this photo perfectly! Aren't those funky waves cool? I used rub-ons to add a title to the Scenic Route arrow for my title. Everything here is from the kit except the alphabets, cardstock, and the circle coasters along the bottom.
I used primarily the 7 Gypsies papers for this layout. Everything is from the kit except the alphabet and the flowers.
And since we had some paper from the BG Cupcake line, I couldn't resist creating a birthday layout. Non kit items are the cardstock, alpha stickers, 2 chipboard pieces and the button.

Re: Valerie's June Scrapperie Kit reveal
Thanks! I am looking forward to using the kit this weekend during the crop!
Tammy, I have an Epson scanner and it has a slide grid that snaps into the lid. I can scan 4 slides per scan. It also has a grid for negatives, and eventually I want to scan those too, so I can have a digital copy of all my photos (even the ones that were taken before the digital age).
I have scanned almost 200 slides so far and still have about 600 more to go. This is the first one I actually printed, but I'm so thankful that they scanned well. I know you can also have them scanned at photo labs, but when I purchased my scanner, I specifically looked for this feature since I knew I had slides that I wanted to scan. It's time consuming, but I try to scan them when I'm working on something else.
