"Class Party" Class :) Empty "Class Party" Class :)

You know... every time one of those class parties come up, I never have anything good to do... well... I found this adorable little treat box in SBE and just HAD to share with everyone. Now, these patterns should be available eventually on the SBE website: www.scrapbooksetc.com .... BUT, they are not there right now... so I made it up Smile

Here's what we're making:
"Class Party" Class :) 024-3
You can totally make it your own... think using orange and cutting out little eyes to make a jack-o-lantern box... or wrap a white one in material and you've got a mummy..... or even make it green and put little squares on the sides.... and you have Frankenstein! Fun huh??

What you need:
one 8x8 sheet of CS (you can use very heavy pp if you want)
printer to print the pattern
scoring tool
adhesive
hole punch
1inch x 8 inch piece of CS or PP
Two brads
Stuff to decorate

Go get this pattern:
http://www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns/takeout.htm

I actually cut off the flaps on my computer before I printed.. I enlarged until it was 8x8 then printed. I used PSP, but I'm sure you could just use your word processor.

Tack the pattern down to your CS and cut it out, then score along all the dotted lines inside.

Fold up the box to make it look like a little takeout box without a lid. I tried it many ways, but was most happy with folding the flaps to the outside edges on the short sides of the box.

"Class Party" Class :) 020-1
Take the thin piece of paper and fold in half and glue it together. Punch a hole in both the box and the handle and use a brad to adhere them. Decorate the box as you wish. On mine... I freehand drew a pattern for bat wings, adhered them to the sides and punched little circles for eyes and drew on teeth and a mouth. You could go any way with this.

Have fun girls!! Hope you can get a little time to play... I really had fun doing this one and it was EASY! It took less than 10 minutes after I got the pattern printed.

This treat box is really cute, Michelle. I love Halloween! I will work on it tonight when I get home. I have some ideas already.

I hoped that if I didn't take a nap, that I would get to work on this project earlier in the evening than this. But no, I got home late and just finished reading email & posting. I guess that I am finding that I am working best in the late evening & early morning before the daily activities. Going to start on my treat box now.

OMG, Michelle. What decisions! At first I was going to do a jack-o-lantern. Then I got out the black CS & made the take-out box but a little deeper to hold more. I considered adding straggly hair and making a witch because my older sister acted like one today. rofl But I loved your bat and thought better of having any more to do with my sister! I was still mad at her. I didn't have any candy so I filled it with scrappy treats.

I didn't get a chance to try this, but I'm going to give it a go in the next couple weeks. I'm thinking that if I can get everything cut out and scored, it could be a cute Halloween project for the kids? Do you think 2nd graders can do this?
