Re: 5/24 Crop & Chat
Here's one in memory of my MIL. My MIL became a grandma at 35. She was young and full of energy and kept our children as often as we'd let her. Troy was her first grandchild and they had a wonderful relationship. He misses her even more than I do.

Re: 5/24 Crop & Chat
Berta Your page about your dad is just stunning and the other about your son...what a cherished memory. I wish I could find any pictures of my grandmas, but don't have a clue where any are, it seems I have missplaced so many pictures, even my kids pictures...I just can't find any of them. We are blessed to each have our parents still with us, mine are in there sixties and his are in their seventies, I did a page about the first time we went away together, this is a second marriage for me and it was and still is to have any time alone. Hope to post it later!
Linda...your trip sounds wonderful and so glad you got to see all your kids, grandkids etc all at one place and the same time...what a magical day!

Re: 5/24 Crop & Chat
Another beautiful layout Berta!
Penny, enjoy your peace and quiet today!
I have no idea what is happening today. I am supposed to be helping a friend do some plastering, but she hasn't called. So, I am going to try and scrap for a little while. Need to run to the store at some point, and still have 250 newsletters to fold! But I am determined to at least get a layout done for the challenge!

Re: 5/24 Crop & Chat
OMG!!! You ladies are doing some fabulous layouts! What great creative people are on this site!! I was really hoping to get involved this weekend - especially as it's the first crop weekend but it just did not work out well for me! My DH and I had actually planned to get the rest of my flowers and garden in yestrday but that got messed up too!
Here's what happened: before we bought our house, there was a dog that lived here and he was kept in the basement a lot - or we figure he must have been as every time we aren't looking or forget to put the gate up at the top of the stairs, our dog heads for the basement and proceeds to mark a few select spots! So yesterday early in the am I was cleaning my scrappy room so I could get started on some pages and join you all, and when DH got up he let the dog inside but did not check to see if the gate was up.... The next thing we find the dog has been in the basement and literally peed EVERYWHERE. Usually he just marks two or three little spots but not yesterday!! Well, we've been meaning to pull the carpet out of one of the rooms anyway, so that was the motivation we needed!
We ended up getting everything out of the room, pulling out the carpet, scraping the underlay off (it had been glued down), and then had to go get paint, cement floor sealer, shelving for the closet, another scraper with a serious blade on it and so on! By then it was late in the day and we came home to have supper. The odd part of all this is that this room is what we call the cat's bedroom - they eat there and play there so the only real furniture in there is a cat tree, cat beds, toys, etc. And of course, the dog peed on some of this stuff too so out we went again to see about buying a few new things for the cats. Thanks goodness I already bought the new flooring when I found it last year as it is "purrfect" for this room - white with blue paw prints!! Anyway, i guess I am off to wash walls and while they are drying I'm going to run and get some groceries, then return only to get painting! So ladies, sooooo sorry I can't join you for this crop and the rest of the day but I will definitely check back later and see what other wonderful creations you all have made!!
Have a wonderful day!

Wow Chris!! No wonder you have no time to scrap! But sounds like you're making memories already. These dog stories are going to be so funny years from now!!! Can't wait to see your 'finished' photos!

Re: 5/24 Crop & Chat
Chris, your new room sounds like it is going to be cute!!! I would have gotten that carpet too!
I still need to finish cleaning my scraproom and hopefully I can do that tonight when it cools off. It is about 90 degrees in my bonus room!! I finally turned the a/c on but it doesn't cool off the upstairs very well. I will have to use the window a/c tonight and it will be more comfortable!
My pug, Phoebe and I, started puppy classes today at Petsmart! I will hopefully have a well-trained dog! She is a little hyper so she wasn't paying very good attention to me today at the store!!

Re: 5/24 Crop & Chat
Good thing to start puppy classes right away! Socialization is really important and I've heard good things about Pet Smart classes! Hope you at least had lots of fun with that even if Phoebe wasn't on her best behaviour!!!

Re: 5/24 Crop & Chat
I did this first page more than a year ago when I first realized my newborn granddaughter might not survive.
This 2nd page is for an album I'm doing for the kids
This one is in remembrance of my son. It took me more than 25 years to scrap these photos. But I'm glad I did.
