Challenge #4

Post  xhater on Thu Dec 10, 2009 1:34 am

The Salvation Army bell ringers have been at all the stores singing Christmas songs and collecting money to help people with food and gifts over the holiday season. I don't know if this happens in Canada or not, but I would image that there are organizations collecting money for people in need. I enjoyed hearing the Christmas caroling.

My challenge to you is to create a page using a holiday or winter song title or part of the lyrics as your title. AND my twist is to choose one of these pairs of colors as the dominate colors of the LO.
1. Red and Green
2. Red and Gold
3. Light Blue (OR Pink) and white
Have fun!

I like working on a challenge right along with everyone else so that is what I am going to do tonight. I may try to make one of EACH of the color combinations if I have photos for that many songs and I will post them as examples.

Alas, no tree up for me either yet. My sister is still here and I would not have enough room to put it up anyway until she leaves. I did a pink and a blue page as examples so far since they are the hardest for me to do using un-traditional holiday colors. I did one winter and one Christmas page. Now to go to the gallery to upload. BRB

Here is my pink and white page. I don't get to do many pages with pinks since neither my DD, her DD or I really care too much for the color. All I want for Christmas....

This is my example of the light blue and white winter page. Winter Wonderland has actually been used as our state (Michigan) theme song.

I am going to try to think about a couple more songs to use the red/green and red/gold choices too.

I love the glitter. Awesome job, Robin, with the colorful sled ride! I sometimes have a difficult time with pages using mostly red and green. I really like the green pp.

Great layouts ladies, and great challenge Karen!

Yes, the Salvation Army does do the bell ringing and all kinds of things here at Christmas time....we actually receive a Christmas hamper from them every year.

No tree up here yet either! I didn't realize until a couple days ago that I didn't have it here, I sent it to my mom and dad's for storage after Christmas last year (still wondering why since I have a perfect storage spot for it, probably my dad insisted, lol!). Just talked to my mom, and after a search of the house, a phone call to my dad at camp, and another search she has located it, and my decorations and will be bringing them on Sat. We do not usually leave it this late, it feels weird, lol!!

For the red and gold part of the challenge, I used the song Winter Wonderland again for my example. I hope that you have fun making whichever color pair you chose.

Very cool photo of Lie with Santa, Terri. At least he didn't punch him like his Uncle Roger did.
