C&C 10/23 UPDATED WINNER

OMG, I was so tired that I slept until noon after trying to move my sister. I woke up twice with terrible leg spasms. I knew that my turn was today but we had some issues within our family. Still, there are tons of stuff on the lawn covered with tarps. I will give extra time to work on the challenge (which may help if you doing the Miss Sassy challenges too). You have until Tuesday at noon EST.

This weekend our city is picking up all unwanted items in a 12 block area. My house is included so I thought a "green" challenge might be fun. The challenge is to either 1. use a nontraditional scrapping item (a bottle cap, twist tie, fabric from clothing or game ticket for example) OR 2. show me something that you or your family does to recycle or save energy. BUT there is a twist! You need to use the color GREEN somewhere on your LO. Every one who enters the challenge will be entered into a drawing for a RAK. Have fun! I will post an example.

Great challenge Karen, you can always ask someone else to take your turn...as we know life happens for us all. Life is happening here as well my daughter is sick, just hope it is a regular sickness and not any of the different types of Flu going around. Need to take two kids to the dentist in the morning and somehow find some time to take the little guy for a pumpkin...he is crazy for pumpkin picking and I was informed that 1st graders don't get to go...now how silly is that!

Oh, Jill, I hope that your DD just has a minor illness & not anything serious. Terri's DS has missed a week of school already with congestion that became croup. He went to the hospital in an amulance last week when he couldn't breathe. He was given a breathing treatment & meds before he returned home. his brother took EMT training & is very good working with him & additional treatments.

What a great challenge Karen! Jill I hope your daughter is not too sick and gets better quickly!

We went to the pumpkin patch today, we had a roller coaster of a day out of town, but all in all it was a good day. I got to do a bit of scrappy shopping at Michaels and we came home with three nice pumpkins and hopefully some good photos...it was pouring down rain most of the time! I might see about working on this tomorrow night...for the non-traditional item, could we do a card or two instead of a layout Karen?

I just finished one this morning that fits the bill! I used some old denim to make some stars and there are green buttons, paper, and letters!

Love your page Deanna...awesome! Well we kept Jess home from gymnastics today, she had some fever this morning and that ugly cough. Still giving her steam at night...she is acting normal and not complaining of body aches so I think she just has a regular cold. Took the two other boys to the dentist to have there teeth cleaned...at least they got a good check-up! Jess loss another tooth..maybe I need to do a toothless layout soon I think! OK, I have been going through old scrapbooks. Not albums, scrapbooks...you know the kind that we use to staple, tape and glue all our memorabilia into? I'm going to take a pic so you all can see the mess I'm making. I came across a Winnie the Poo applique that I cut from a bib that was Tye's when she was a baby. Going to have to find a photo to go with it then I'll work on this challenge.

BUT FIRST, I have to finish the yard work that I started. I've done the back yard now I have to go do the front. Usually this time of year is really dry so my yard work is minimal. But we've gotten some rain this year and the grass is still nice and green out there. And growing!! So before we get a jungle going on I better get out there and get it mowed. This is what I've been doing all week. Taking everything out of albums (back to 1966) and putting stuff in envelopes by year. I'm up to 2004...just six more years to go...woohoo!!

WoWZERS Berta, that's a bunch of stuff!

We had grandson Brady's 3rd birthday party yesterday and everyone had such a good time! Took a bazillion photos of course! LOL

Today we have Kaylee and Brady so I think we're gonna try and work on a Halloween Gingerbread House I picked up and then we're off to the inlaws to visit and also my SIL is visiting from Alabama.

Hope you all get some scrappy time!

Don't think I will have any time to scrap today either...need to get everyone showered up, and off to pumpkin picking...etc, we finally have a good day here...all the other weekends have been rain, rain, rain...I am sure there will be alot of pumpkin pickers today!!

It's been beautiful here for the past few days...high 70s low 80's. So glad to have my yard all done cause according to the weather channel it's going to be in the high 50's and raining on Friday and Saturday...figures since we have a weekend of Halloween activities planned. Tye's birthday party is Thurs, Friday night is our church Halloween party (thank goodness that's inside), and the community Halloween stuff is Sat. We usually have a parade of costumers...may get cancelled. Not to mention rain will put a damper on the trick or treating.

WOOHOO! I finished all the album stuff. Now when I come across a photo I have the envelopes labled by year so it will be easy to find the memorabilia to go with them.

I'm going to get some lunch and then see if I can find a cute photo to go with my appliques. Tye and Paige will be spending the next 2 nights here cause Luci's out of town and Daddy has to work nights. Tye was starting on a page of her own when she left for her mom's on Fri so maybe she'll want to scrap with me when they get home?

I did my example after everyone finally went to sleep last night. I saw what was left of an empty box & used part of the lid. I decided to have some extra texture.
