C&C 9/25
Is everyone ready to scrap? This weekend, we will be warming up for World Card-Making Day which is October 2nd. My challenge to you is to make a set of 2 cards. But, of course, there is a TWIST!!!
Card #1 has a theme. The theme is Halloween because Halloween is this month.
Card #2 can be any theme but it MUST be a shaped card.
Not a card maker? Need ideas? Card sketches can be found at CardMaps-
http://www.pagemaps.com/sept09cardmaps.htm
Ideas for shaped cards might be a chef’s hat for a dinner invitation, an umbrella for a shower invitation, an apple for a teacher’s thank you card; a flower, a happy face or a pretty heart for a “thinking of you” card or maybe a baby bottle shape for a congrats card. As you can see, the ideas are limitless. You have until Monday, 9/28 at midnight PST to post your set of cards. I forgot to mention that there is a little card-making RAK for the winner of the drawing.
Here is an example of each of the challenges-
Have fun!!

Re: C&C 9/25
well I am definitely well prepared for this challenge...I stopped at Staples and picked up a pack of 250 sheets of 8.5x11 cardstock today with the plan to get a move on on some Christmas cards! Austin is off to daddy's for the weekend after supper, so maybe I can get to this tonight, maybe! Have to get to bed early though...my mom is taking me to Jazzercise with her in the morning
What is everyone planning for the weekend??
Oh...if you're looking for ideas for shaped cards check out The Cutting Cafe. Just a little early plug since they will be sponsoring the DT next month, lol! But she does have some awesome cutting templates for shaped cards!

OMG! Steph, I can't believe that you are so busy and still find the time to enlist such cool sponsors!! I love the bibbed apron. (I tried to cut one for a BBQ invitation this summer.) Love those stamps! And cannot believe how reasonable they are! I wish I was a DT right now. I am definately purchasing some of these next month!
I am not a card maker but am starting to like making cards. I hope that everyone has fun with these challenges.

Austin has left, and I am ready for bed, lol! I have a bunch of shows I want to watch tonight though, so I might force myself to make some cards just so I can stay awake!!

What perfect challenges for me to get back into the scrappy saddle! I LOVE making cards...in fact, I need to make a birthday card for my niece. Challange #2 will cover that card nicely!
Thanks Karen!

Re: C&C 9/25
I pretty much crashed last night, though I did flip through the PaperCrafts magazine I picked up yesterday, lol. I went to Jazzercise with my mom and my aunt this morning...wow! We also hit WalMart and I found a really cute Christmas paper pack...I'm hoping it will be the inspiration I need to finally get down to business and start creating...I have pulled all of my Christmas (and Halloween) papers and embellies out and I am determined that I will create something this afternoon!
Re: C&C 9/25
Good luck, everyone! I know how hard it can be to get started. Once I do begin, I usually am up into the wee hours. Remember that cards are a good investment of your time & they will be waiting when you need to send them.

Re: C&C 9/25
Having a medical emergency here with my little son, I was freakin last night and took him to the doctors today...don't know if I will find the time or not. To make a long story short, he has bad allergies, to all this ragweed...he was covered in hives and I didn't know what it was at the time...it looked so freaky! So now he needs to take singular, Benadryl, zyrtec and have Neb treatments too! Taking it easy today after all this excitement!

Jill, I hope your DS is feeling better. I know what it's like but I think Fall will be short this year. We always made sure to have lots of Benadryl on hand.

Re: C&C 9/25
Good Sunday Morning everyone!!!
Today is Emily's birthday party.... I can't believe my baby is going to be 5 on Wednesday!
Anyhoo.... nothing major for a party, but need to get some cookies baked for work and of course I'm out of butter and oil (you think I could have checked that...). Gonna pick her cake up at 10.... hopefully that means earlier. I'm heading out of here no later than 9. Nathan's football game is at 1:30, so I do have a timeline. While the cookies are baking, we'll decorate. FUN TIMES!

Re: C&C 9/25
Jill, hope your little guy is feeling better today! Sounds like you're going to have a busy day Michelle! Hope the party goes well!
I managed to get a card and a half done last night...neither of them for this challenge, lol. I'm hoping to work on a Halloween one today though. Off to Brian's for the night later this afternoon so hoping I can get it done before I leave.

Re: C&C 9/25
Jill, ive been the same way all my life and sometimes if they hives get bad enough, i go to hopsital and get a shot or 2 of steroid. i had a horrible reaction to an xmas tree and once at moms ( remember mom, the hives started on my back and then covered me!) It does affect breathing too, so the breathing machine is great!

My weekend has been a little crazy..that's normal for me. But I'm hoping to get some cards made when the girls get here. I love halloween! Terri, I love your haunted house...do you have a pattern you can share?
Jill, how is you little guy doing today? Hope the meds work for him.
Happy b-day to your daughter Michelle!
I'm off to gather some halloween paper scraps. Happy rest of your Sunday ladies!!

Very cool cards, Terri! I love them both. Awesome job!
Michelle, I am glad that Emily had such a wonderful birthday. Even though it was a busy day, it sounds like mom had a great time too.
