Weekend Crop & Chat-8/21st-WINNER POSTED!
I am going to bed so I am posting my challenge since I won't be home until dinnertime. I hope to give everyone plenty of time to work on their page.
School will be (or is already) starting. Education is a very important element of life. My grandmother used to say, “A person continues to learn all through their life”.
Your challenge is to create a LO which has something to do with school. Ideas might be a child's first day of school, shopping for their clothes/supplies, a BOM of you and school or photos of schools you have attended, a page about something you have learned or even someone reading a book. The ideas are limitless. (Doing a BOM is only one suggestion.)
Your LO is due Monday, August 24th at midnight PST. You will be included in a draw for a RAK. The rest of you will be given dunce caps! Have fun!
Players:
Berta
Linda
Jill
Terri

Re: Weekend Crop & Chat-8/21st-WINNER POSTED!
I hope that everyone will be having a less humid and more normal weekend than the hot, busy weekends so far this month. We had a terrible but short severe thunderstorm yesterday. I was in the bank and it began to rain so hard that you could not see across the street. The wind became violent. The bank doors blew open & the lobby was flooded in minutes. The power went off & tree limbs fell and small trees were uprooted. Part of the metal cover over the pumps at the gas station next door was ripped off. And then 15 minutes later, the wind stopped & the sun was bright. I hope that no one else had such a bad storm!

You are near Ontario aren't you Karen?? They were having funnel clouds popping up all over the place yesterday, probably you were getting some of what they were getting! We had a little bit of a windstorm last night, nothing major although it did knock the power out in the whole city three times for about 5 minutes each time.
I don't have much in the way of school pics but I might be able to dig something up!

Steph-I am 5 minutes from Ontario & have relatives in Toronto where 4 tornados in the Toronto area hit yesterday killing 3 people. My grandfather's family is from Hamilton. When these storms cross the St. Clair River, they pick up water & become heavy enough to start boucing & hitting the ground.
Berta-I love the school photo & the black and white background with the primary colors in your LO. Awesome job!

OK, I got up at 6:30 and helped DH load a bunch of stuff to take to the dump, I have a maccaroni salad all made for dinner, the laundry is done, and I've got the water on the front yard. It's time to relax now. I've got some pages printed off for more Mug Shot challenges and some ideas running thru my head for the DT challenges. Now to decide what to work on first...decisions, decisions! Hope you all are having a great end of the Summer. It was 100 here yesterday and a few degrees cooler today. A perfect day to stay in under the AC! Off to scrap!!

Re: Weekend Crop & Chat-8/21st-WINNER POSTED!
Berta, I love your layout... Great job!
I did mine...
Sorry for the layout not being real straight I took the picture in a hurry. As we are getting packed and ready to go on our little vacation to Ely, MN. Before I can leave early tomorrow morning, I need to get my transcription done and finish getting packed... But I wanted to do Karen's challenge for the crop and chat this weekend.
Have a great few days ladies. Will see you when we get back.

Re: Weekend Crop & Chat-8/21st-WINNER POSTED!
We had swirling clouds here and my dad was driving home from Toronto when all this happened... My sister lives in Durham, but no damage to her house... It was CRAZY!!!
I haven't had much time to scrap this weekend... Its my son's 3rd birthday on Sunday... and we are giving him a "room makeover" in a weekend... so we have been busy doing that.... Maybe tomorrow night! Lol!!
Your LO's Are all AMAZING so far!!!

Great LO Linda! I love the checklist! Have a fun vacation!!
This LO has nothing to do with school but it does have something to do with learning. It's a lift of Steph's 'Fun Time with Papa'...thanks Steph!

Oh fun, I love it Berta!! Great layouts ladies!! Not sure I'll get to this, I'm up to my elbows in Mod Podge working on a paint can, lol, but if I get it done I will try to find some photos for this.
Re: Weekend Crop & Chat-8/21st-WINNER POSTED!
Linda, I love the typewriter key alpha! The layout of your page inspires me & will be going into my favorites. I love the list of supplies on the tag. Be safe on your trip!
Berta, learning to ride a bicycle is certainly part of the educational progression of a child's life. Awesome event to scrap for the future. I always love the "film strip" look of a column of photos. No major heatwave here today. It was in the 60's!
Jodi, I am glad that your sister & her home are safe. Durham was one of 1st places hit on the news!

Awesome page, Jill! I love the pp you used. I hope that this year is much better! It was a wonderful thought to get photos of this event. I am hoping for photos of Elijah's 1st day in Kindergarten. Well, maybe not! I can just see him kicking and screaming all the way there next week! I finished my page too & will get it posted now.

Cute page Jill! Love the school paper and embellies. Hope Nick does better this year. Paige was really excited to start school last year and didn't cry at all. This year she has the same teacher and class. (Her Kindergarten teacher moved up with the class and is now their first grade teacher). She cried the first day and didn't want her daddy to leave...?????
It's such a pretty day today and I'm lovin' my 'day of rest'!! May scrap another page this evening. But now I'm off to see what sounds good for dinner.
