April 24th Weekend Crop
“SPRING CLEANING”
What a difference the weather has been lately. Most of my neighbors have been outside working in the yard and doing some spring cleaning. People have been putting their porch furniture out and raking the yard uncovering the tulips, crocus and daffodils that are beginning to pop up. We had 3 inches of snow just 2 weeks before the major change in the weather. So I was inspired to make this a spring cleaning weekend for us too. Enjoy yourselves!
Challenge 1-CLEANING & PAINTING Scraplift any LO from the gallery. We are going to “Spring clean” it. (1.) use the same number of photos as the original, (2.) choose two embellishments in the original (buttons, frames, flowers, flourishes, etc) and use the same amount of them in your LO. BUT we are rearranging the look of the LO (rearranging the furniture). AND we will change the color scheme from the original (paint the room). Summary-scraplift from the gallery using the same number of photos and 2 embellishments but change the position of them in your LO AND use a different color scheme. Don't forget the link to the original LO so we can see your rearranging and color changes.
Challenge 2- I WONDERED WHERE THAT WAS…. (1.) Use a tool that you have not used in a while (decorative scissors, eyelet setter, punch, etc) on your LO AND also (2.) make an embellishment from scraps or use something recycled (twist tie from a loaf of bread, bottle cap, buttons from an old blouse). Tell us what you chose to recycle.
Challenge 3-YARD WORK Use at least one photo of someone doing yard work like raking, clean up, planting flowers, mowing the grass OR outside home improvement like painting, putting out lawn furniture etc. It doesn’t have to be a spring photo; it can be shoveling the snow in the winter or playing in a pile of raked leaves in the fall. The main idea is to use an outside photo of doing something to improve the house outside or the yard.
You can do each challenge only once. Paper LOs, digi LOs or altered projects are allowed for the challenges. Please have a fun time! I am going to play too!

Re: April 24th Weekend Crop
I've got some quiet time tonight so right after dinner I'm on this!
Fun challenges, Karen!
Question? For #3 do the outdoor photos have to have people in them? I have some before and after yard work photos that need scrapping.

Berta- Absolutely a wonderful idea! Before and after photos would make an awesome page. I didn't think of it but many of us have before and after photos of inprovements. Great idea!

Oh, I love the challenges! Very clever. I hope I can get to one of them this weekend, but I've gotta complete the telephone tag, first.
Hope you're all having a great weekend, and enjoying some sunshine in your part of world.

Re: April 24th Weekend Crop
We were in the 80s today but had a severe thunderstorm with 70 mile an hour winds and hail. I remains dark and rains some on and off but it has not gotten super humid. That is a major concern around here because we are on Lake Huron and humid means much more than it does in other areas. Time to work on my LOs. I hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend and will find some time to scrap.

Re: April 24th Weekend Crop
It was a little cool here this morning, but it warmed up quite a bit. We went and wandered through the Saturday market downtown for an hour or so at lunch time...picked up some jam, fudge and soup mix. I LOVE the market, I wish we could go more, I love watching those people that go with their big baskets to keep all their shopping in...I want to BE them! LOL!!
We've been tidying up a little today. I did some major furniture rearranging a few weeks ago and got sidetracked and haven't been able to get back to it and it's been driving me nuts, so today Austin and I got down to it and got quite a bit done, I'm very proud of us! I might have to try and get one of these done later on tonight, I really love the challenges!

Re: April 24th Weekend Crop
Sounds like Spring is finally getting here for most of you! Woohoo! However, Karen, your weather sounds scary! Every time we have those kinds of storms we wind up with Tornado watches. Haven't ever had one here but it always makes me nervous since we don't have a basement or cellar.
Got one challenge done (Yard Work). On to the scraplift challenge next.

Re: April 24th Weekend Crop
Great job, Berta! I wish that my yard looked as nice as the before photo. LOL I have days of leave raking from last year since our section of the city is always planned for such a late leaf pickup. The leaves are still in the trees when the second pickup is over. Well I will have tree branches and so on too with the stirm last night. Congrats on being the 1st to post your LO!

Re: April 24th Weekend Crop
Berta wonderful job with your challenges!!! Thanks for asking about us. We are doing okay I think, trying to get back to a routine. Mom went back to work last week, which I think was exactly what she needed, although I know it hasn't been easy for her. I've dove head first into some things here around the house, trying to get my yard into shape and painting my office/scrap room. I think that has helped.
